NO TO WAR

We are horrified by the terrorist attacks of Tuesday 11 September in the USA. Our hearts go out to those killed and injured, and to their families and friends. But we are deeply concerned that the response of the US government will make matters even worse. We believe that actions seeking revenge will do nothing to further peace and justice. In the words of Mahatma Gandhi, “an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind.” Rather, we believe that a crucial part of building a just and peaceful society is to address the gross inequalities in economic and political power that exist in the world today.
