in Plymouth
Council workers held a one-day strike on 5 March against cuts
and privatisation. 2000 people marched through the city in
their support. This is the largest strike in Plymouth for many

Pool Campaign Confronts Council Leader
The campaign to stop the closure of Gorton Tub, a local
swimming pool, is gaining support. This week over a hundred
people met with the Council leader. The Council has recently
opened a new, privatised swimming pool for the Commonwealth
