EU Summit Protests, Seville - Trains

GR logo

We are recommending that people fly to Madrid, and then travel down to Seville by coach - there is information about this on our main Seville page. There are also trains from Madrid to Seville - twice as fast, but twice as expensive. And trains also run from other Spanish airports to Seville.

Remember the planned General Strike on Thursday 20 June when you make travel plans.

The Trains in Spain
This page deals with train journeys within Spain, assuming you've flown to a Spanish airport and need to get to Seville from there.

Check out the website of RENFE, the Spanish train company. They have an English site including timetables and ticket prices. The front page loads very slowly - after it's loaded, go to Tickets and Prices for information. You can also buy tickets online in English if you have a credit card.

For Seville, look up Sevilla Santa Justa. Prices are given in euros for one-way trips - the return price is the same as two one-way journeys - and Tourist Class is cheapest.

From Madrid
You can get from the airport to the Atocha train station easily by metro. The journey to Seville takes around 2 hours, and a one-way ticket costs around 38.

From Malaga
Trains run from Malaga airport to the main station. There are no direct trains from here to Seville - you have to get a train to Cordoba and then another to Seville. The journey from Malaga will take 3 to 3 hours and cost around 20.

From Jerez
There are only two trains a day to Seville, plus a sleeper. You'll need to get a taxi from the airport to the train station, costing around 8 to 10. From there it's only an hour to Seville, and a single fare is cheap at around 7.50.
