Jos Bov Speaks!

Jos Bov, who became an international focus of the anti-capitalist movement after dismantling a McDonald's store in 1999 is speaking at his first public meeting in the UK in June. Organised by Globalise Resistance, Bookmarks Bookshop and Verso publishers the meeting takes place on Tuesday 12 June - and interest is immense!

Bov will be joined on the platform by Franois Dufour (his co-author), ex-MP Tony Benn, writer George Monbiot and Globalise Resistance's own Helen Salmon. Chairing the meeting will be GR's Gillian Marshall.

This has the potential to be the UK's biggest ever book launch! We've had calls from around the country and expect to pack the venue. On the evening the book - THE WORLD IS NOT FOR SALE: Farmers against junk food - will be on sale at 10 (normal price 16) so bring your self your friends and a tenner.

Direct Action at MacDonald's Before the Meeting
McDonalds 'Restaurant' on Euston Road (opposite Kings Cross station) will be the focus of a protest organised by Globalise Resistance on Tuesday 12 June at 6pm. GR want to highlight the damage done to the planet and people's health in the pursuit of profit by fast food multi-nationals.

Rumour has it that Jos Bov will attend the protest.

Groups and trade union branches are invited to attend and bring their banners.
